Overview

The portfolio of specific economic research projects approved by the RPC constitutes the Facility's overall Research Program, and should aim to most effectively utilise the total funding available. The Research Program is expected to provide a mixture of:

  • Large, medium, and small projects in terms of research costs
  • Short, medium, and long term in relation to policy focus
  • Short term and medium term project implementation timeframes, usually one to three months
  • Individual researchers/research teams/joint ASEAN-Australian and other EAS research teams
  • Country of origin(s) of individual researchers and research teams
  • Gender balanced research teams, where feasible.

The following thematic areas are the primary focus for the EAS Research Initiative (REPSF II):

  • Finance;
  • Energy; and
  • Economic development and integration.
